the concept
As originally conceived by Pete, the theory goes as follows...since the odds
of winning a mega lottery jackpot are statistically ZERO, and the value of a
penny these days is statistically ZERO, we could get 100 family members together
to play a weekly lottery which would cost us (statistically) nothing and pay off
huge dividends in fun and excitement.
All you need is a penny...and a dream!
The penny pool will be limited to 100 individual players. Each player
must contribute one penny apiece, twice a week, for 25 weeks.
NYS Lottery Mega Millions drawings are held each Tuesday and Friday.
With a 26 week subscription, we get one free week...so each game ticket will
actually cost us less than a penny apiece!
The first 100 Phelan Family members to sign up via email and submit a check,
cash or money order in the amount of $ 0.50 will be named our penny pool
players.
For convenience sake, we will allow each family to bundle their pennies
together, but only if they follow our
bundling guidelines.

even the smallest money can have the greatest power to damage even the strongest
relationships.

the rules

This game is open ONLY to Phelan family members...you know who |

| 2. |
Gaming begins after we complete a roster of 100 paid players, and

will run for 26 weeks. |
| 3. |
Gaming may be extended for weeks missed due to work, sickness, |
| |
vacation, holidays, laziness, forgetfulness or any other cause you
|
| |
might imagine. |
| 4. |
Each player is strictly limited to one share...no doubling up.
If we do |
| |
win anything, it will be an equal split 100 ways between 100
players. |
| 5. |
First come, first served...no exceptions. |
| 6. |
Each player must pay his or her own penny...no covering for |
| |
anyone. Our simple
bundling guidelines must be followed. |
| 7. |
Non-majority (under 18) children must be sponsored by a custodial
|
| |
parent. |
| 8. |
Parent sponsors must agree to hold any winnings in trust for the
|
| |
non-majority player. |
| 9. |
The committee shall be authorized to act on behalf of the group as a
|
| |
whole.
|
| 10. |
Winning payouts of less than $ 500 shall be re-invested at the sole |
| |
discretion of the committee. |
| 11. |
After gaming begins there shall be NO modifications to these rules.
